The most popular Korean cuisine in a HMR version


Annyeonghaseyo! Hello, K Friends!  Hope everything’s doing very well with you! 

Thanks to much technology development, we enjoy many different types of HMR, Home Meal Replacement. HMR foods are great on their own, or can be made into an endless variety of delicious and simple recipes. Because of this, you can find lots of HMR foods at any grocery store. But you know what? We can make our own version of HMR. So, I am going to make the most popular Korean cuisine in a HMR fashion. It is Bulgogi Rice Bowl, Bulgogi-deopbapIf you know a bit of knowledge about Korean culture, you know the Bulgogi, don’t you? Hope you like this wonderful recipe! 

Bulgogi Rice Bowl

Ingredients (Serving 2): 1/2-pound beef short rib, 1/4 of carrot, 1/4 onion, 2 green onions, 2 eggs, 2 servings of steamed rice,

Sauces: 3T Soy sauce, 2T honey,  1T garlic, 1T sesame oil, a bit of ground pepper

How To Make It

Step 1: Preparing ingredients

Slice the onion into appropriate sizes. Slice the carrot thinly. Slice the carrots into thin pieces again.

Cut about half a carrot. Slice two pieces of green onions diagonally. This is the beef I’m going to use today. You can use any part of the beef. Personally, I like the short rib part because of the soft texture. When you cut the beef, the key point is to cut as thinly as possible. 


Step 2: Seasoning Bulgogi 

Put the beef in the bowl. Add chopped onions and carrots. Add 3 tablespoons of soy sauce.  Add 2 tablespoons of honey. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Add 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Sprinkle a bit of ground pepper. Mix all the ingredients well.


Add a generous amount of oil to the pan. Put an egg. Grill it as if the egg is being fried. I'm going to put it on top of the bulgogi rice bowl.

 


Step 3: Grilling Bulgogi 

Add the seasoned bulgogi to the pan. Stir-fry well! When the meat is cooked to a certain extent, add green onions. Turn off the heat when all ingredients are cooked. 


Put the rice in the bowl. Put the bulgogi on top of the rice. If you like fried eggs, feel free to add one. Sprinkle a bit of sesame seeds.

You can eat Bulgogi Rice Bowl as a lunch or even a dinner menu. Plus, you can bring Bulgogi Rice Bowl as your lunch to your work place. I believe that is the greatest thing of this cuisine. I am 100% sure that my son will bring Bulgogi Rice Bowl as his lunch tomorrow.

NOTE

*If you want to cut the beef thinner, leave it in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Then, you can easily cut it thinner.
