Honey Soy Sauce Fried Chicken
Annyeonghaseyo! Hello, K Friends! Hope you
are doing well! A few days ago, my daughter came back home from California to
spend her spring break with family. I wanted to make some kind of a special
cuisine for her. I ended up deciding on home-made fried chicken. So, I wanted
to share the cuisine with you today. It is “Honey Soy Sauce Chicken”, and it is
quite popular at some Korean chicken franchise restaurants. As you might know,
soy sauce is one of the most important sauces to almost all Korean cuisines. As
is always, there will be a critical flavor in addition to the soy sauce. So,
let’s make Honey Soy Sauce Chicken together!
Ingredients: 2 lbs. chicken wings, 1 cup of
starch powder, cooking oil
Sauce: 3T soy sauce, 4T honey, 4T cooking
wine, 4T water, 1T garlic, a bit of ginger and ground pepper
How To Make It
Step 1: Chicken preparation
These are chicken wings that were washed in running water and drained. Add two pinches of salt. Sprinkle a bit of ground pepper. Mix it well so that it is seasoned.
Put 1 cup of starch in a ziploc or plastic bag. Put the chicken wings. Then, shake it like this so that the starch powder gets on it well.
This is an effective way to coat starch easily. Then
let me deep fry the chicken wings later.
Step 2: Making sauce
Add 3 tablespoons of soy sauce. Add 4
tablespoons of cooking wine. Pour 4 tablespoons of water. Pour 4 tablespoons of
honey. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Add a bit of ginger. Add 1/2
tablespoon of red pepper powder This is optional. Add a bit of pepper. Mix it
well.
Step 3: Deep frying
Pour plenty of cooking oil into the pan. When the oil temperature reaches 350 Fahrenheit degrees, add the chicken wings.
Cook over high heat for about 10 minutes. Please note that each stove has a different level of heat.
Take out the chicken wings in ten minutes. Deep fry the chicken 1 more time. Fry it over high heat for 2 more minutes. The chicken wings look so crispy. Take the chicken wings out.
Add the sauce that you just made to the preheated pan. Then reduce the sauce to about one-third or cook for 2 or 3 mins.
When the sauce is boiled down to a certain extent, add the fried chicken. Add the sauce and mix well.
Sprinkle some sesame seeds according to
your preference. If you have green onions, sprinkle some. This is how we made
the sweet and salty honey soy sauce chicken!
All our family members liked Honey Soy Sauce Chicken.
Particularly, they liked the honey flavor that soaked with soy sauce, giving an
unique flavor and texture to the soy sauce chicken. It will be a great snack
and a picnic food for your family. So, just try to make it this weekend! Hope
you enjoyed my choice today! Have a great day! See you next time! Thank you! (Gamsahapnida!)
