How to Make Awesome Korean Chicken Bulgogi | 닭불고기

 Chicken Bulgogi (Dak bulgogi, 불고기

Hello, everyone! How have you been doing? Hope all of you are doing very well!

Can you name any Korean cuisine? If I ask this question, one of the very common answers includes Korean BBQ. As a matter of fact, it is now a worldwide popular cuisine. One slight issue with Korean BBQ is that it is typically made of beef or pork meat. If you don’t like both types of meats, there are not many options. So, I would like to introduce a different type of Korean BBQ with a new type of meat, chicken. I’ve tried this cuisine a couple of times for my family, and they really like it too! I believe most people enjoy eating chicken anywhere in the world. So, let's make Chicken Bulgogi together!

Ingredients: 1.3 lb. chicken thigh, half an onion, some cabbages

Sauce: 3T soy sauce, 2T honey or sugar, 2T cooking wine, 1T minced garlic, a bit of minced ginger, a bit of pepper, 1T sesame oil, 1/2T red pepper powder (optional)

How To Make It

Step 1: Preparation of ingredients

Slice the cabbage. Slice half an onion. I'll stir-fry it later and put it under the chicken bulgogi.

This is the chicken thigh washed in water and drained. Remove the fat part.

Spread the thick part of the chicken thigh. Add some cuts to the chicken thigh. Cut the chicken in half. Sprinkle a bit of salt.

Step 2: Making Sauce

Put 3 tablespoons of soy sauce in the bowl. Add 2 tablespoon of honey or sugar, 2 tablespoons of cooking wine, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, a bit of minced ginger, a bit of pepper, 1 tablespoon of sesame oil and half a tablespoon of red pepper powder. Mix it well.

Step 3: Stir-fry Vegetables

Add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil to the preheated pan. Put the sliced onions and cabbage. Stir-fry them for about 1 minute. Add about 2 pinches of salt. I will put chicken bulgogi on top of the stir-fried vegetables.

Step 4: Grilling Chicken

Add 1 tablespoon of oil to the preheated pan. Put the chicken thigh. Cook over medium high heat. Don't turn it over often.

Turn it over when it turns golden brown.

Turn it upside down again. If the chicken is cooked well, pour the sauce. Cook it over high heat. Turn the front and back so that it doesn't burn. Turn off the heat when the sauce is almost boiled down.

Sprinkle a bit of sesame seeds. Sprinkle a bit of green onions. Delicious chicken bulgogi is done!

Does it look that the Chicken Bulgogi is quite different from typical Korean BBQ? It does because of chicken meat and its texture and flavor. However, it still has the yummy Korean BBQ flavor. So, if you are bored of beef or pork meat, just try this Chicken Bulgogi! Hope you enjoyed my recipe today! Have a great day! See you next time! Bye bye!
