Mini Kimbap

It's so good that I keep on finding myself continuing to eat this!


Hello, everyone! How have you been doing? Hope everything goes well! Today, I'm going to introduce a dish that comes to my mind when I try it. It's mini kimbap. A while ago, one of my nieces told me that it would be nice to introduce mini kimbap to my viewers and I thought it was a great idea! The mini kimbap is so good that I keep on finding myself continuing to eat them. Then, let’s make it together!


Ingredients: 5 sheets seaweed, 2 bowls rice, half pickled radish, 1 carrot, 2 mini cucumbers, (2 sheets of fish cake, spam ham-optional)

Dipping Sauce: 1T soy sauce, 1T water, 1T vinegar, 1T honey 

How To Make It

Step 1: Making Sauce

Add half a tablespoon of mustard sauce and 1 tablespoon of water. Stir it well. Put 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of vinegar, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Stir it well. This is the dipping sauce for the mini kimbap. 

Step 2: Preparing Ingredients

Slice the pickled radish thinly. Slice it thinly again. 

Slice the carrots thinly. And slice it thinly again. 

Cut the ends of the mini cucumbers. And cut it into thin slices like. I'm not going to use the seed part. Slice it thinly again.

Cut the fish cake in half and slice it into thin slices. 

Slice the spam into thin slices. Slice it thinly again.

Step 3: Stir-frying Ingredients

Add a bit of cooking oil to the preheated pan. Put in the carrots. Add 1 pinch of salt. The carrots don't need to be overcooked. Stir-fry over medium and high heat for 1-2 minutes. Place the stir-fried carrots in a bowl.

Put spam in the pan. Stir-fry over medium and high heat for 1-2 minutes. 

Add a bit of oil to the pan and put in the fish cake. Stir-fry it over medium and high heat for about 1 minute. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of water, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Stir-fry it well.

Step 4: Seasoning rice

Place 2 bowls of warm rice in a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds. Mix it well. 

I'm going to use five sheets of seaweed for 2 bowls of rice. Fold the seaweed in half and press it. Even if you don't use scissors, it will be easily cut. And fold it in half again and press it down.




Step 5: Rolling kimbap

Put the rough side up of the seaweed. Put 1 tablespoon of rice on a sheet of seaweed paper. Spread the rice thinly. Put the pickled radish, some carrots, and some cucumbers. 

Let me show you a different combination.

Put 1 tablespoon of rice. Spread it thinly. And put some pickled radish, some fish cake, and some spam. Roll it well. This combination is really good, too.

If you don't like pickled radish, skip it and put in cucumber, some fishcake, and add spam. Roll it well.

Let me tell you another way. You can put all the ingredients on the table and put the ingredients you want and wrap them up yourself.

Spread sesame oil on top of kimbap. Sesame oil enhances the kimbap flavor and makes it even more delicious. 

Sprinkle some sesame seeds.


You can just eat one when you eat it, but let me cut it to see how it looks inside. 

When you eat it, it's good to dip it in the sauce you just made. Very tasty mini kimbap is done!

  • 1T soy sauce
  • 1T water
  • 1T vinegar
  • 1T honey 

 Instructions

1. Making Sauce:

 2. Preparing Ingredients

 3. Stir-frying Ingredients

Stir-fry the carrots over medium and high heat for 1-2 minutes. And add 1 pinch of salt. Stir-fry spam over medium and high heat for 1-2 minutes. Stir-fry fish cake over medium and high heat for about 1 minute. Add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of water, and 1 tablespoon of honey. Stir-fry it well.

 4. Seasoning rice

Place 2 bowls of warm rice in a bowl. Add 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1 tablespoon sesame oil, and 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds. Mix it well.

 5. Rolling kimbap

Fold the seaweed in half and press it. And fold it in half again and press it down. Put 1 tablespoon of rice on a seaweed paper. Spread the rice thinly. Put the pickled radish, some carrots, and some cucumbers. Roll it well.

Notes

  • You just can put in the ingredients that you like. There are so many different ingredients for making kimbap.
  • If you like spicy foods, you can add 1 teaspoon of red pepper powder when you stir-fry the fish cake.
  • Put in the ingredients little by little to make the kimbap roll well. If you put in too many ingredients, the mini kimbap won't roll well.
  • You can make mini kimbap with your favorite ingredients.
