Super Healthy and DELICIOUS Korean Cabbage Pancake Recipe!

 

 Cabbage Jeon (Pancake)

A very healthy and simple dish that is not only filling but also, delicious!


 Hello everyone! One of my favorite ingredients to use when cooking is cabbage and it seems like many of you also enjoy this common yet delicious vegetable. So, today I wanted to introduce a simple and delicious dish that you can make with cabbage, which is cabbage pancake. It is the perfect dish to throw together when you don’t have many ingredients or don’t know what to make. Hope you enjoy this recipe!

How to make it

Ingredients: 7 oz cabbage (200 gram), a bit of carrot, potato, a bit of onion, 3 eggs, 2 tablespoons of starch, salt and pepper

Step 1: Slicing the ingredients

Slice the cabbage. Wash once and drain. Slice the potato thinly. Slice it again. Slice the carrot thinly. Slice it again. Slice the onion into thin slices.



Step 2: Making the batter

Put 3 eggs. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Add 2 tablespoons of starch to make sure the ingredients stick together and taste better. Sprinkle a bit of pepper. Mix it well. The batter is ready. I'm going to grill it now.


Step 3: Grilling Jeon

Add 2 tablespoons oil to the preheated pan. Add the batter. Press it well with a spoon. If you have a lid, cover it and cook it slowly on low heat. Cook each for about 6 minutes. After 6 minutes, when the bottom is golden brown, turn it over with a spatula. Cut it into bite-size pieces and put it on a plate.

  • 2. Put three eggs. Add 2 tablespoons of starch. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Sprinkle a bit of pepper. Mix it well.
  • 3. Add 2 tablespoons oil to the preheated pan. Add the batter. Press it well with a spoon. If you have a lid, cover it and cook it slowly on low heat for about 6 minutes each side. When the bottom is golden brown, turn it over with a spatula. Cut it into bite-size pieces and put it on a plate.

Notes

  • Potato makes the cabbage pancake taste much better.
  • I used potato starch but you can also use corn starch.
  • You don't need to add water because the vegetables are watery.
  • If it's hard to flip, you can put it on a plate and then put it in the pan.
