Ojingeo Bokkeum ( Spicy Stir-Fried Squid) |
Ingredients:
- 1 large squid
- half an onion
- a little carrot
- 3 mushrooms
- 1 to 2 green onions
Instructions
Making the sauce: Add
- 2 tablespoons of red pepper flakes,
- 1 tablespoon of red pepper paste,
- 3 tablespoons of soy sauce,
- 2 tablespoons of cooking wine,
- 1 tablespoon of minced garlic,
- 1/2 teaspoon of minced ginger,
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- A bit pepper. Mix well.
Tip: Preparing the sauce in advance allows to make
the food taste better.
Preparing the vegetables:
Cut half an onion into appropriate sizes. Slice the carrot and mushrooms thinly. Cut the green onions
diagonally.
Preparing the squid: Remove
the squid intestine and wash it well in water. You can cut the squid as it is,
but for better absorption of the sauce, make diagonal cuts on one side and another
diagonal cut on the opposite side. Then cut it into bite-sized pieces.
Place the sliced squid in a
bowl. Add the sauce we made earlier. Mix well.
Add 1 tablespoon of cooking
oil in a preheated pan. Put the carrots and onions. Stir-fry the carrots and
onions on high heat for about 1 minute.
After 1 minute, add the
mushrooms and stir-fry them together. Then add the squid mixed with the sauce
and stir-fry for about 1 to 2 minutes on high heat.
Lastly, add the green onions
and stir-fry for another 30 seconds.
Turn off the heat and add
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds
- 1/2 tablespoon of honey or oligosaccharides. Mix well.
This should be enough for 2
people. Serve it over rice, and you won't need any other side dishes! Very
delicious and savory stir-fried squid is done!
It's a dish that can bring
back your appetite when you're feeling a bit off. Hope you give it a try. I’ll
see you next time. Thank you! Bye bye!
Notes
- If spicy food isn't for you, use less gochugaru (red pepper flakes).
- Feel free to add cabbage or zucchini if you like.
- Fry the squid in a big pan on high heat to make it less watery and better in texture.
- Be careful not to cook the squid for too long, or it will get hard.
