Kimchi Egg Toast |
If you have aged kimchi at home, try this simple recipe!
With just a few ingredients, you can quickly make a delicious dish that
combines nutty flavors with the rich taste of kimchi.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup chopped aged kimchi
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 tablespoon sugar
- A pinch of salt
- 1/2 tablespoon cooking oil
- A bit butter
- 2 slices of bread
- Some cheese (melting type, e.g., mozzarella or cheddar)
Instructions
Step 1: Prep Kimchi
Squeeze out excess liquid. Cut kimchi into small pieces
with scissors directly into a bowl.
Step 2: Make Egg Mix
Whisk 2 eggs with a pinch of salt.
Step 3: Stir-Fry Kimchi
Heat ½ tbsp oil in a pan. Add kimchi and ½ tbsp sugar.
Stir-fry for 3 minutes. Transfer to a bowl.
Step 4: Cook Eggs
Melt a bit of butter in a clean pan. Pour egg mix, place
2 slices of toast on top, and flip to soak. Cook on low until eggs are set, then
fold egg edges onto toast.
Step 5: Assemble & Grill
Add a bit of butter to the pan. Place the stir-fried kimchi
and cheese on one slice, fold in half. Grill on low, flipping until golden and
cheese melts.
