Korean Pan-Fried Tofu Patties

Tofu Donggeurangttaeng is a
delicious Korean-style tofu patty that's pan-fried until golden and slightly
crispy on the outside, while soft and savory on the inside. Made with mashed
tofu, chopped vegetables, and a touch of seasoning, these bite-sized patties

lunchbox item, or even as a light meal. Tofu donggeurangttaeng is loved for its

Ingredients:
- 1 lb (450g) tofu
- some chopped onion
- some chopped carrot
- some chopped chives or green onions
- 1 tbsp tuna fish sauce
- ½ tbsp cooking wine
- 1 tsp sugar
- ½ tsp salt
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp starch powder (add 1 more tbsp if needed)
- A little black pepper (optional)
- Some cooking oil
Instructions:
Step1
Drain and crumble tofu –
Press out excess moisture using a kitchen towel or cheesecloth.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine tofu, some chopped onion, carrot, chives, 1 tbsp tuna fish sauce, ½ tbsp
cooking wine, 1 tsp sugar, ½ tsp salt, 1 egg, 3 tbsp starch powder, and a
little black pepper. Mix well. Check consistency – If the mixture is too soft,
add 1 more tbsp of starch.
Step 3
Heat a pan with 2 tbsp oil.
Scoop spoonfuls of the mixture and place them in the pan. Cook on medium-low
heat – When the bottom turns golden brown, flip and cook the other side. Once
both sides are crispy and golden, your savory tofu patties are ready!
