Bulgogi Rice Paper

Today, we're making something crispy on the outside and full of savory bulgogi flavor on the inside —Crispy Bulgogi Rice Paper! They're super easy to make and perfect for lunch, a snack, or even a party appetizer.

Ingredients:

  • 250g (9 oz) ground beef
  • 2 green onions
  • 1/4 red bell pepper (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • ½ tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  •  small amount of grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon mirim (or cooking wine)
  • 1 tablespoon starch (cornstarch or potato starch)
  • 4 rice papers
  • Cooking oil
  • Cheese (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Chop veggies

Chop 2 green onions. Dice red bell pepper if you have it.

 


Step 2: Make bulgogi filling

In a bowl, mix: 250g (9 oz) ground beef, 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1 tbsp oyster sauce, ½ tbsp sesame oil, 1 tsp minced garlic, a little grated ginger, 1 tbsp sugar, a bit of black pepper, 1 tbsp mirim, 1 tbsp starch (cornstarch or potato starch)

Step 3: Prepare rice paper

Dip one sheet of rice paper in cold water (1 second). Place it on a cutting board or plate. Add 1 spoonful of beef mixture to the center. Spread it thin so it cooks evenly. Add green onions and red bell pepper. (Optional) Add cheese.

Step 4: Fold and seal

Fold rice paper in half. Press gently to seal the edges.

Step 5: Cook

Heat a pan over medium-low heat. Add 1 tbsp oil. Cook until both sides are golden and crispy. Flip once in the middle, and cook until both sides are golden and crispy.



Once they’re done, plate them up, and they’re ready to serve! Crispy and flavorful Bulgogi Rice Paper is done!
